Exploring the Metroplex - Frisco Stops

Oh the weather outside is . . . well, very cloudy and rain is in the forecast for this afternoon.  That means we are off to play, but trying to stay indoors for most of our adventures today.  We get a bit of a late start, but head up to Frisco.

Our first stop is at Penney's, where we have gift cards to use up.  One never knows with Penney's as to how long they will stay in business, so . . .  A few items come home with us.  I hit a sale rack for shirts and paid less than 9 dollars for each of these.

Mister got a new sleeping pillow and we decided to give dryer balls a try.  (psst - forgot a pic when they were still in the box.)

There is also a new brewery we want to try out but first, we remember a restaurant from years ago that we loved and want to re-visit.  Along the way to lunch, we spot a Farmer's Market and decide to check it out.  It's a permanent structure with booths under cover from weather.  There are heaters on inside and it's a very pleasant experience.

Seems like a perfect mural for here.

Entrance -

A loaf of sourdough bread finds its way back to the car with us and we are off to the restaurant.  It has sooooo changed - no longer Mediterranean, but more Indian style w/a few holdovers from before.  Disappointed, but willing to give it a try - we order.

I am waiting until after you see the picture to comment.  It was TERRIBLE.  I'm not sure why there are dill pickles in the hummus, but that is all you could taste, like it was made with pickle juice.  The pita was so very tough and the chicken schwarma bowl was bland.  Honestly, we haven't had this bad of a meal in a very long time.  It's just so sad, because it was a SUPERB restaurant before.

Find me a beer please.  Let's clean the palate.

Great signs -

We are at Three Empire Brewing in old town Frisco.  It's a small brewery doing a fantastic job.  Honest.  Give it a try if you are up there.

This coffee stout is amazing.

The owner, David, and the decorations - all tops.

Thoroughly enjoying our drink and time there, we can't stay forever and we're driving so drinking more is also not on the agenda.  Oh well.  Mister wants some new dish towels so a stop at IKEA happens.  Trouble is they are discontinuing the dish towels he likes so I found them online and order two dozen for him.  Otherwise, we just wandered around getting ideas for changes to the house.  After that - home to relax for the evening and it poured the whole way home.  We beat the storms today, though.
