Dallas Blooms - Week 3 and Fish and Fizz

A rainy/cloudy March day, but we are still spending time together.  Deciding to try the Arboretum between rain storms, we stop for coffee at LDU and it is just so yummy.  Cinnamon Swirl Bread and a Fritter top it off perfectly.

By the time we get out of the coffee shop, it's raining too hard to walk the gardens without being soaked.  Opting to get groceries instead, we are off to the store.  Outside the grocery store are some peach trees that are blooming.  My heart just melts.  I want a peach tree again so badly, but . . . changes ahead.

Back home to put food away and wait out the rain a bit.  By the afternoon, it's drier out and we give it another go.  This time, it works.  Come along for the Week 3 Eye Candy.  You can tell that the tulips by the entrance were at their peak last week.

But the main lawn is really just coming on.

Flowers after a rainstorm are just so beautiful to me.

Beautiful spring flowers with a gorgeous cherry tree blooming in the background.

The grass has really filled in and greened up.

So pretty.

Actual distance we are away.

This lady is a trooper.  She is out in this weather (drizzly and about 45 degrees) playing her violin for people.

Anyone know what this tree is?  We're both stumped.

I notice a very large bird flying overhead and it lands in this tree.

This is as good as I got and I still don't know what the bird is.

The smaller tulips are fascinating.  I can't wait until next week to see how they look.

The quince has really come out.

Narcissus everywhere.  We called these daffodils when I was growing up.

Ooooh, a few camellias are peeking out.

Yellow forsythia coming on as well.

Cherry tree lane starting to look divine.

We also saw our first azalea of the season.  Woohoo.

Plum trees in bloom.

A single peach blossom.  More buds around though.

That's it for today's walk.  I mention to Mister that Fish and Fizz is at Four Bullets and that sounds like a yummy lunch so off we go.  It is soooo good.

A few fun finds in the place:

Hope ya enjoyed our day as much as we did.  See you around.
