A drive into town allowed us to peek around the area and survey the damage from the heavy snow on trees that were still fully leafed out. It's not pretty. These are just down the country road from Mom's house. Doesn't look too bad, right?
How about a little closer up?
Wow! The drive into town has trees down all over, including in Kalispell. What a mess! Costco shopping takes place along with a stop at Walmart and then its back home once again. That means a little sewing time for me. I've been working on these tiny blocks - so fun. That's pretty much the highlights for today. The rest is just spending time together and Mister relaxing a bit.
5th - The snow is mostly gone now, leading Mom to feel comfortable enough about going outside.
The same holds true for Bailey and Mister.
Mister works on the yard for a bit and brings me in this leaf. It's as big as my full-sized keyboard.
Then, the new toaster oven is set up and put into place.
A visitor stops by for a backyard snack.
Stepping out onto the deck to get a slightly better picture, she doesn't even react to me.
Mister and I take a drive into town to check out an arts and craft show - turns out to be crazy disappointing, but the drive never disappoints.
Max's Market seems like a good place to grab a cuppa and just breathe a bit. We get a chance to visit and listen to some fun, older albums. Always a joy.
As we sit by the window, I notice how pretty the wandering jew is with the sunlight all around. Yes, the sun is shining and I am loving every minute of it.
I've been taking the same picture all week --- here is the "after the storm leaves" shot.
Jill sends a message for us to stop by and visit (she couldn't get to the coffee shop) and so we do. I have to just giggle over and over at Greyson's little bed and his new quilt from Auntie. Also, isn't this the cutest potty trainer EVER?
Uncle will always get down on the floor to play.
As we are visiting, a visitor stops by. Apparently, he's a frequent one as . . .
kids and dogs and big humans don't seem to shake him one little bit.
We have such a great visit - there were even turkeys running through the yard, but they were so fast I couldn't get my camera quick enough. At any rate ---- such fun together and we'll see y'all with a new little one the next time we are in this house.
Back to moms for the rest of the day and some sewing and visiting. Then, guess what happens? Yep, round two. Goodness.
The evening ends with the Houston Astros winning the World Series. How fun and, yes, we did watch the games.
6th - Mister LOVES to have breakfast out at least once each trip and today is the day. Riley's at the top of the hill is serving brunch now and we're eager to give it a try. Once up there, the scenery is wonderful and check out the sky.
Yum, yum, yum. A basic breakfast is typically my go to and this one was wonderful.
While we were eating, Mom had a view out the window and she shows me this tree as we leave. How fun is this? A leftover Halloween decoration, I'm betting. Back to the house and just a quiet day. It's all good and a slow pace is helpful now and then. See ya in the next post.
