Merry Christmas! The Whole Family is Together.

Merry Christmas!  It's here!  Mister and I have slept in this morning.  Isn't that just the most sure sign that you are getting old and there are not any small people in the house?  Should we have slept in?  Probably not.  We have company arriving in a few hours and for some reason, still have a bit to do.  That means get up and get after it right?  Nope.  Let's open gifts.

It's dang obvious that I am NOT the one holding a camera.  Really?  Robe, pajamas, and crazy hair.  Yep, perfect time for a picture.

We took a trip at the first of the month that is was our gift to each other and then we bought a car.  Mister received a few fun cocktail experiment supplies and that's more than enough for our own fun.  With the kids sending goodies, we have a few more packages to open.

What an amazing bounty (pic at the end) and we are so thankful for the love shown to us by knowing exactly what we would like.  There have been tears, smiles, and even giggles this morning -- a perfect time.

Now we need to get this house ready --- first up - set the table.  I do so love all the red/white this year.

We barely get the vacuum put away and I go racing to get dressed when the doorbell rings.  Here we go.  Visiting takes the forefront while dinner continues to cook in the oven.  It sure smells good in here.

Sherry, cheese tray, and conversation --- lovely.

After dinner (which Mister, for the first time EVER, didn't take a picture of), we head for the living room and some additional gift exchanging.  The family drew names this year and each person has just one to give to.  We have Bob and Mom.

It's a great time for all.

Before Michelle has to leave, a family picture is set up and fingers are crossed.  Mister sets the timer and runs into place as Brant (Michelle's greyhound) decides not to  participate and literally stands right in front of the camera.  We have about 10 pictures of this with escalating laughter each time.

One more try and he decides to play nice.  Mister sets the camera to take about 10 pictures in a row and, will wonders never cease, one actually works pretty well.

Well, that's it.  Our full day is over and resting has begun.  I love this man of mine so very much and his family has become mine as well.  Thank you all, for sharing the day with us.  Onto the last week of the year and all that it inevitably brings.  Hugs from the Hayters.
