Mister is a gem and soon has all of the totes down from the attic. No, that is not a dead body wrapped up as a friend suggested, it's simply part of the tree.
With the tubs all down, we both work together and soon the outside is sparkling from lots of little lights. Yes, this is a good start. I usually leave this to my sweetheart while I work inside, but together is much better. It's all part of my refocus on "home" and time with my sweetheart.
My reward for all this work? The first eggnog of the season and HANDMADE by Mister. Yum. Tomorrow is another decorating day. Keep on scrolling ----
I'm starting in the bedrooms today -- for some reason, I am loving the way the look each year -- more and more festive. This year I completed the shams to match our quilt and even put together a little throw pillow from a proto-type block. It makes me smile each time I look into the room. ( I don't have the lights up on the window yet in this picture.)
Now for my - oops, the guest -- room. I have not finished either of the two Christmas quilts I am working on, so go digging for something festive. In one of our linen hideaways, I discover this wonderful, white duvet. It is so soft and perfect. Presto, chango -- another room becomes part of the fun this year. I know, it's a dark picture. I still love it though.
Moving along down the hallway and I'm at the front of our home. Here are a few nooks and cranny's that get a little makeover. (Hall and Dining Room)
Yes, the tree is up. What a wonderful warm glow to the room.
More little areas - Living Room and Kitchen
The main dining area - next year the wall gets SOMETHING and a new table runner.
Each year I try and add a few new items to the collection. This year it is pillow covers and a small tree for the den along with some red candles.
Red pillows carried over into the living room as well and I can say, "It is done" for this year. I do already have a list for new additions to come. Stay tuned.
Merry Christmas Ya'll. Now to just sit and enjoy. Cup of tea anyone?
