Just Us Two -- SipStir, Dallas Zoo, Mom, OHB

It's a Just Us Two type of day.  Well, at least for part of it.  Come along and let's see what all we can see and do.

We're starting out with a new to us coffee shop called sip/stir.  I think it's super cute and a great play on words.

It has a nice open floor space with lots of great places to sit, both for group and individual needs.

Doesn't this look yummy?

We are able to grab a sofa and just casually enjoy our time.  My barista did such a great job that the pattern stays until the very end.

As we are leaving, I spot this fantastic idea.  OMG -- why can't I come up with these brilliant strokes of genius?

At any rate, give this place a try if you are in Dallas.

The Zoo is open and we want to walk a bit.  I have a strong desire to see that dang, elusive baby hippo and if we boogie right to the habitat first thing, perhaps we'll get lucky.

We are among the first people through the gate and off we go.  No distractions.  Perhaps our day will be lucky because Mama and baby are out and about ---- for quite awhile and we really get to watch a show.

Mama wants to finish eating her breakfast, but her little girl is just a wee bit impatient and keeps dragging Mama back into the water.

In and out they go, with her grabbing a bite to eat each chance she gets.

She wants back in the water, but stays a bit longer.

Then the lure is just so strong and in they go again.

One more time please ---

Stay away from the water.

I love you, will you please come back on land?

PLEASE

It's just so boring up here Ma

Fine, I'll just lay down a bit.

At this point, we are ready to move on, but it was absolutely wonderful.  What do you suppose the chances are we can spot the new baby gorilla?

Woohoo --- success once again, but not up close.

First, we see Samibili running around -- I can't believe she's one already.

And then, Mom and Dad move away a bit and oooooh, our sweet baby is right there.  Too much zooming in results in a blur, but we'll try again another time.

A stop at the giraffe area and we are up close and personal with a lovely good morning.

Brand new animals to the zoo ---- African Painted Dogs.  They are in the old cheetah habitat and exploring it for the first time right in front of us.  This IS a good day here.  Isn't their color beautiful?

A few random moments as we finish our walk -- penguins.

Falmingos - no babies yet

And it's time to go.  We are taking Mom H to lunch today and don't want to be late.

She's ready to go ---- It's beautiful out and we are off to enjoy a bowl of Pho.

Mister and I finish out the day with a stop at OHB, where I discover a new game.

And a great new saying.  Love it so much.  See y'all around.
