Dallas Blooms - 5th Visit and Still Overcast

The sun is just in hiding on the weekends this year.  What can I say?  We woke up to rain but decided to brave it and head for the flowers anyway.  Are you ready for this weeks beauty?  The daffodils and cherry blossoms are done, the tulips and camellias on their way out, but azaleas, wisteria and Japanese maples are divine today.  Here ya go - with minimal commentary.

The aroma hits me instantly, driving my face skyward to see where it is coming from.  I LOVE wisteria.

Azaleas are thick now, but not at peak yet.

Peek a boo

This is where he was.

Empty great lawn but the weekly picture.

Looking the other way for a change.

Filling in

The colors are a changing

Water on flowers --- I simply adore it.

Oooooh, white wisteria and the smell is intense right here.  I think I'll just hide out and stay here forever.  Or until it is done blooming.

The last of the camellias.  So sad.  Water on purple tulips.  So glad.

These tulips have gotten SO tall.  It's crazy.

Friends along the path.

My money shot this week.  Green and white is true elegance in nature.  Add water drops and I'm in my happy place.  Cropped first, full shot second.

The green and white garden - with a few maples thrown in.

NOW -- the true star this week.  The Japanese maples are at their best.  The colors are intense and the contrast with the green is simply gorgeous.

I haven't seen any of his pictures yet.  I'm asking him today for a file of them so I can share in one post.

It won't matter what week -- they are almost all close ups and crazy cool perspectives.  Mine --- well, they are what they are.

The bulb that got away -- and lived to tell about it.

We haven't been to the grotto in awhile -

If the rain would stop, these could stand up.  They are so tall that the weight of the water is tipping them over.  New blossoms on trees - I think it's another type of cherry but am not sure.

A glance at the lake will show you the white caps -- yes, it is THAT Windy and cold out here.  It has dropped 10 degrees since we started out today.

A final look at wisteria and we are off.  See you again next week.
