A Red Hat Halloween

Well it's a bit challenging to find a red and purple Halloween image, but I didn't do too bad did I?  Oooooh --- it's the end of October and the universe has allowed me to attend a Red Hat Halloween at Babe's Chicken House.  Honestly --- doesn't that just make you smile as you read it.  Of course costumes are involved.  Oh your smile just got even more wide, right?

I have looked forward to this day all month.  Now in the interest of full disclosure, I am double dipping with my costume and using the same one I had a few weeks ago for the Our Witchy Quilt World retreat.  At that time, I had decided to be Endora from Bewitched and so it's going to be the one for today too.  It still allows me a lavender dress and I can maybe get away with the red hat.  Oh come on - use your imagination --- I could pass for Agnes Moorehead --- ya'll know that.  Just take a look.  Now, granted, my hair wasn't quite wild enough and I didn't have a high collar or long sleeves, but you get it anyway.  I know you do.

And without -- my sweetie actually said, "Are you going out looking like that?  Those eyes are something else."  Well, of course I am.  In fact, I am driving like this.

Upon arrival, the usual jockeying of putting tables together is going on and there appears to be a large group gathering today.  Woot woot.  That means I will get to meet a few new members.  I say that like I'm a member.  Someday . . . . If the universe aligns correctly.

Before our meal begins, I try and grab a few pictures.  Here are Miss Etta as a pioneer, Vickie (are we all ready do do the jitterbug?), and Zombie Spycee.  I know that with each person, I am going to wish I was more creative.

Queen Cynthia in reverse colors as it is her birthday month.  Perfect and Happy Birthday.

Sharon is SuperWoman - complete with cape.

Umpire Arlene is once again my table mate -- oh the poor girl - so I show her my magical powers in the "old school" selfie.

Mom/daughter pair of Jean and Paula

Obviously I am at this end of the table --- more Sharon and Etta - and a glimpse down the way.  I need to get up and gather a few pictures.

Okay --- Billie and the local guy --- sweet kisses.

Joan and Frankie ---- I am crazy envious of both Joan's hat and Frankie's spider.

Etta and Vickie showing off pictures.

One of yours truly, thanks to Cynthia. AND -- drumroll please -- Miss Etta visiting the local dude.

With plenty of cameras documenting the fact.  I kind of like this picture of Vickie and Fonda.

Anna and Fayrene --- Witch hats were in abundance.

Perhaps my favorite costume of all.  Her makeup is impeccable.  Wow.  What a great job Bobbi.  The red and purple are awesome and as a true redhead, I can appreciate your attempt although I'll go more with orange as your color today.

The drawings take place and Billie draws Etta's name which is quickly followed by Etta drawing Billie's name.  Hmmmmm.

While we are eating, the best line of this event is made by Arlene.  She leans over to tell me that the potatoes are pretty runny.  With a quick glance down, I notice that she is putting gravy on her plate.  Well, yes, those are indeed runny potatoes.  HAHAHAHAHA

It's birthday time --- kazoos out.  So sad, I still haven't rounded one up.  Must work on that.

And a group picture taken for my by a random stranger who is unfortunate enough to be sitting near us.  Thank you Sir.

Etta and Jenn (Fallen Angel) with a few words before leaving.

I know I didn't manage to get pictures of everyone and I'm so sorry.  Each time I gather a few more and perhaps one of these months I will.  Keep your fingers crossed -- and perhaps your eyes too.  It may take a lot for it to happen.

It's time to go but as always, laughter and fun have been in high quantity and I'm looking forward to being together with them again in December.  The November retreat hits at the same time, so I'm out of luck next month, but I'll be there with bells for the following one.  Til then ladies --- keep on smiling and having fun.
