After our beautiful morning at home, we are off to Grapevine for Christmas dinner and fun with Mister's family. It's a beautiful day and the drive here is most pleasant. After some time visiting -- it is time to get down to business --- gifts, of course.
Bob gets to play Santa again and let the fun begin. Soon lovely little stacks of gifts surround everyone and we go through opening one gift at a time so that all can ooh and aah over everything. Isn't this it should always be done?
Even Max gets into the spirit --- he thinks something yummy is in each bag and he is actually pretty correct. It is a foodie Christmas and most everyone gets something yummy.
Mom opens her gift and the smiles are worth everything. Her comment of "Oh, at last. I've been waiting for this" simply warmed my heart beyond measure. It is so nice to feel as though you have thrilled someone.
It's dinner time and I'm starved. We also get a few moments to visit and enjoy the company of family. I am indeed grateful to be surrounded by family today.
What a fun afternoon. Time to make the drive home. Mom is tired and so are we.
