Unexpected Time With a Friend

Good Morning.  We have a free play day today and I'm absolutely happy with it.  Last week, my friend, Bonnie, needed a change in plans and a place to stay for about 24 hours.  I was more than happy to answer the call and help out.  We left Mineola yesterday and today are going to just step away from sewing a bit.

Once her blog post is complete, we are off to the Dallas Arboretum for Mister and my 7th visit this spring and her FIRST!  Even though she has lived around the metroplex in the past, it was not a stop on her boy raising radar.  That's cool, for today it shall happen.

First stop is coffee.  Perfect.  On we go.  As we are driving near the lake, we share with her the sailboat groups and rowing teams that play here.  As if right on cue, mere minutes after we enter the gardens, rowers pass by on the lake.  Run, run for pictures.  Hey, even Dallas is in the background.  Yep, it's a gorgeous day here.

Dallas Blooms 6th Visit -- Happy Easter

It's a beautiful morning and I want to walk --- I want to bask in the beauty of spring and soak in the new installation at the Arboretum.  It is called "Celebrate the Children" and the sculptures are by Gary Lee Price.  In 2016 there was a "Great Contributor" bronze statue exhibit also by Price and enjoyed by my granddaughters.  You can peek at it in this LINK

I love his work and have been looking forward to this day.  We skipped a week and oh my goodness -- the change at the gardens in huge!

Sunday Fun - Bluebonnets and So Much More - Seagoville!!!

Well, once again nature has messed with us and our plans.  However, we are going to get her on our side in a different way.  Since a free day just came about, we are off to Ennis and some bluebonnet peeping.  Yep, we are that old.  Our first stop truly nets the perfect pictures.  I am in heaven.

Easter w/Red Hats

Happy Red Hat Easter!!!  We are gathering on a crazy rainy day in Plano, TX.  Serious water is falling from the sky and just getting in and out of cars is a challenge.  Does it matter?  Well, not to me.  It's Red Hat time and I don't want to miss out unless I have to.

Spycee (Jean) is our Queen for the day this month and upon my arrival, I discover she and Estella have been eagerly waiting for the gang to gather.

Spycee has decorated the table with sock monkeys, one of who dances and it's dang cute but I ruined the video.  You would have laughed like crazy.  He dances and sings, "Here Comes Peter Cottontail."  Perfect.  All my sock monkey lovers would be going crazy.  Obviously, it's the bunny that dances, not the duck.  Okay, okay, technically he just walks across the table while the music plays.

Dallas Blooms Week 6 - Dreary Sky Continues

My plans for this afternoon changed, leaving Mister and I the chance for an afternoon stroll around the Arboretum.  It is week 6 for us at Dallas Blooms and the place is just bursting with color all around.  My eyes cannot take it all in and I don't know where to point the camera next.  The azaleas, oh the azaleas.  What beauty.

Closing Out the Month - in Weatherford

March is leaving.  What???  We have had crappy weekends the entire time.  I want a nice day although it appears I'm out of luck.  Might as well go with it again.  Today we are off to Weatherford for Trade Days and a chance to walk around outside.  Even though it's cold and a little dreary, freezing our butts off beats sitting on them staring at computer screens all day.
