Dallas Blooms Week 6 - Dreary Sky Continues

My plans for this afternoon changed, leaving Mister and I the chance for an afternoon stroll around the Arboretum.  It is week 6 for us at Dallas Blooms and the place is just bursting with color all around.  My eyes cannot take it all in and I don't know where to point the camera next.  The azaleas, oh the azaleas.  What beauty.

The sad part is that it is short lived -- as evidenced by the amount already on the ground.

Weekly shot for changes --- overcast sky once again BUT the gardens are full today.  Even without sun, the day is warm and comfortable.

Strolling through the azaleas.

Up against a crepe myrtle --- lovely.

Oh so many on the ground but with the mulch and ground covers filling it -- it looks wonderful.

See that white blossom in here?

I had to look up.

This one looks lonely.

Waterdrops!!!

And a busy helper doing what we need to keep our planet going.

Ooooh - foxglove

Last week the wisteria was just starting and we didn't make it to the Women's Garden.  I KNOW that is where it will be the most beautiful and am determined to see it today.  Following my nose, the next corner reveals the wonder.

And here's my money shot for the day.

So many colors of columbine

A stop in the white garden is always a must and today all the fountains are adding to the beauty.

I wasn't sure Red Maple Rill could outdo last week, but I could not have been more wrong.  OH MY!

Admin offices

The tram path and the only time of year pedestrians can really go here --- azalea row.

A quick dart out to one of the test gardens that we rarely get to see due to closed gates.

Some of the ones that catch my eye -

Strawberries with pink flowers --- soooo pretty.  All the ones I used to grow had white blossoms.

This tulip is DONE.  However, isn't there a certain beauty to this stage too?

New yellow flowers among the final tulips in this bed.

Oooooh --- the first rosebuds are spotted and the plants are full of buds.  Next week?  The rose garden will be on our route for sure.

Pink and purple slendor

And a sea of tulips.  Soooooo pretty.

New Japanese Cherry Blossoms -- the trees are full!!

And this trio says farewell, both to their time in the sun and our visit.  Until next week --- find something beautiful in your world and soak it in.
