Red Hat Valentine's and a Contest

Live, Laugh, and Love was the theme of my quilt retreat last weekend and with Valentine's upon us, it seems fitting to carry it right on through.

I am not absolutely sure that I will attend today's Red Hat event as I have really missed my sweetheart and it's the last weekend I have with him for awhile.  It's also his birthday party this afternoon and I still have things to do for that.  However, the idea of fun with my Red Hat Sisters wins and now I'm racing to put together a hat for the contest.  Someone mentioned just adding hearts to a hat and for some reason my mind just opens and everywhere I look I spot something I can use.

Morning Visitor

As I walked into the den this morning, I just happened to peek out the back door.  We have a visitor and I know these aren't the best pictures but by the time I got closer, he/she saw me and took off for another roost.

A New Smile

Seven months and eleven days in the making.  I have a new smile.  Here's to a better 7 months.

District 9 - A New Neighborhood Spot

I've been out of town for the past 11 days and during this time Mister must have spent some time looking for a new spot to visit.  As luck would have it, he found one right in our own neck of the woods.

District 9 --- no, not either of the movies that come to mind --- is a new brewpub with a German flair.

North Haven Gardens

Looking for a new coffee shop this morning and the one I thought we were going to turns out to be in Whole Foods.  Drat.  At any rate, we are not far from North Haven Gardens and Mister remembers that they put in a cafe a few years back.  Yep, it's been that long since we were there.  This must be remedied.  One moment in the shop and garden reminds me of why I love it here.  We will be back for plants this year.

The cafe has just opened and after we order and sit down, out comes my camera.  Just look at the windows all around and the fun stuff to see.

Brewery Hopping in Dallas

It's been a busy morning.  I had Red Hats, Mister went to help his mother, and then returned to pick me up.  Some lunch at home and a clothes change for me and guess what????  We are going out to do some brewery hopping.  There are so many popping up all the time and we are way behind the times here in Dallas.  It's time to remedy that.

First stop is Pegasus Brewing.  It's turning out to be a beautiful day, making the patio come alive with families and friends enjoying the sunshine and a beer or two.

2019 Red Hat Season Begins

I have had a super busy week but am back home in time for Red Hat fun.  Our 2019 season begins today with a fun birthday party hosted by Jenn.

Welcome to January.  Mister and I are on our way to Richardson and Jeng Chi to meet up with the ladies.  He drops me off out front and I feel as though I really am in a little Chinatown.  It's wonderful.
