Fall Weekend Around Dallas

I just love weekends with my sweetheart.  Making sure that we get out of the house for at least a bit each day keeps us active and together.  This morning Mister has heard about a new farmers market.  I'm sad to say that it really wasn't much, but we did check it out.

Since our walk turned out to be very short, why not head to the Arboretum?  Sounds good.  It's quiet in the gardens, and I love it this way.  It's also very green right now - not quite as floral.

It's not that there are not any flowers - just that they are few and far between right now.  This one is interesting.

These are just coming on as well.  Look at the leaves above them.

Morning dew and webs - always fun to spot.

The whole thing.  No name on this plant.  I'm super curious.

We spot the beginnings of Autumn at the Arboretum, which begins next month.  Peeking through the trees.  I'll have more on this when we attend the Member Preview night - looking forward to it.

Purple and green - my favorite combination.  These are the water wise plants - looking so good for how dry it is.

Lunch at Vector - so good and I found something new to try.

Sunday walking takes us to the zoo.  As usual, the lemurs do not disappoint.  They are a bit challenging to spot, but they are on the run and playing so we see lots of movement.

Flamingo pond now has ALL of the beautiful pink fowl in one place.  The new inhabitants are off to the right in this picture.

Quick stop with a dino friend.

Tiger love.  We are so lucky today.

What's up with the Galapagos' today?  I am laughing so hard - "Do you think you're making a getaway?"

This face!

We usually pass on the bird show, but we know it has changed so we give it a try.  There are a few highlights, but mostly it is a step down from before.

Fun with the penguins.  It's the first time I've noticed that their names are on the wing clips.

Lazy gorilla.  We don't often spot them on this lookout.

Our male band of gorillas are leaving soon and that makes me sad.  I understand why the change, but I don't love it.

A quick stop to see the elephants - so fun to watch our young one.

And that's it --- what a nice morning.
