Weekend with Family - Jen's and Elena

Feeling super lucky today.  Jen called and wanted to come spend some time with us.  That meant get up, get moving, get the house cleaned AND we decided to throw Elena into the mix since she had a free weekend.  Mister helped with the house for the morning and then went to pick her up.  They got back just before Jen, Louis, and Josh arrived.  We all chatted for a bit and then opted to go putt around with some miniature golf.  We went to Another Round and had a great time.  We had a bit of a wait before we could begin, so Josh and Elena gave this game a try.

Ooooh, let the golfing begin.

I'm just going to share some pics here and there really isn't much to say about most.  If there is, I'll add comments.

Trying to get everyone in the same pic is challenging.

This next hole was pretty cool and the artist did a great job - including the little finger sandwiches.

When it was my turn, I asked if the flag came out of the hole.  It did and I managed a hold in one.

Grandpa is stylin'.

This hole did NOT go well for me at all.

Hmmmm - getting creative now.  Mister did well --- Hole in one.

I did manage to ride the rails.

This was a hole in one for me and soooooo funny.

Ahhh - Elena gets a chance to have a little photo fun.

I rounded the corner to this hole and found Elena already down in the pits.

Thought I'd join her -

Jen joined in with another pit.

AND - those two started a war that I was stuck in the middle of.

After 18 holes, only 5 strokes separated first and last place.  Not too bad.  It's time for some food and Mediterranean is the choice.  A family platter at Ephesus works perfect.

Dinner is followed up with Braum's Ice Cream.  All together now.

Next is a trip to Half Price Books - we had been talking about the show, "Dallas", so I checked to see if I could get it here cheaper than streaming.  Turns out that I'll probably use Tubi and live with the commercials.

Grandpa finds CD's that he wants and Elena has a stack of books as well.  Jen found a couple of things and Josh got a new Bible.  Everyone left happy, I think.

We ended the night playing some Texas Hold 'Em with Mister's change.  Fun to play when nothing to lose.  (He got all of his change back.)  Time for bed.

31st - It's the last day of the month and my whole house is sleeping in - it's quiet.  Grandpa gets up and snaps a couple of pictures before waking the youngsters to go to the coffee shop with him.

When they returned, Elena trimmed Uncle Louis' eyebrows - which resulted in lots of fun and laughter.  The second pic happened because she told him to quit smiling.

Back to work --- great job Elena.

The decision is made for another putt-putt day, only outside this time.  Grandpa and Elena playing on the escalator - all an illusion - they weren't moving.

We are up in The Colony at Grandscape.  PopStroke is the targeted area.

Just starting this out with - outside?  It's dang hot out here.

First hole - first stroke -- hole in one.

Just some fun shots - not taking near as many pictures today - did I say it was hot?  Crazy hot.

Grandpa looks and golfs like he belongs on a course.  Sooooo many 2's and several hole in ones.

Gotta get out of the sun for a bit - so a break for water and snacks, then back for another 18 holes.  I'm already beat, but gotta keep going.  Grandpa sits out the second 18 - too much sun for him.

Fun at the table:

When we finish -- it's time to return Elena so we visit with Rhiana and girls for a bit - Mariel and Isla seem to have found a new friend.  I had to laugh cos Mariel went and got dressed before she asked to sit with Josh.  Super cute.

Dinner is Japanese Hibachi and it was okay - nothing special, but fun with family.

And that's about it.  We are dropped off back home, belongings are gathered and good-byes are said as they begin the journey back to Abilene.  LOVED having them here for a bit.  Makes my heart warm.
