Road Trip Time - Billings 2nd Half

We've hit the beginning of our second week of travel.  This morning we are making the house switch in Billings and Mister had moved his office during lunch.  He's such a trooper and I appreciate that so much.  As soon as he is set up, Mariel is right there to watch over the entire process and hang out with Grandpa.

While going to Laurel the other day, a truck threw a rock at my windshield and created too much damage to drive home with.  I have an appointment this morning to get my windshield replaced and the girls go along.  After dropping off the car, we walk over to a local antique shop for a bit.  Malea doesn't seem at all happy to take this picture.

The antique shop has barn quilts outside - love it.

Both girls manage to discover either jewelry or clothing treasures that they love and then we follow it all up with Italian Soda's.  I'm loving the change to just hang with them.  Soon, the car is finished and we are on our way back home - with a clear windshield and several hundred dollars lighter.

Spring means the trees make a mess and the girls have to sweep the trampoline before they can use it.

Backyard fun

Elena and Mariel - no hands.

Grandpa is ALWAYS a hit here -

Isla doesn't really know who has her yet, but we're making progress.  She sees me and he is holding her and no screams are happening.

Elena and I make a Caprese appetizer for dinner and it is just so yummy that they can't wait.  I struggled to get a picture before the feasting had begun.

Soothe with a bottle while we make friends.

Selfies are fun.  Although, she certainly wants to know where everyone that she "knows" is at.

I do have my moments with her, but then stranger danger will kick in and all she wants is a familiar face.  Right now, tired and it's bed time.

8th - Mister is hard at work, cats are keeping him company, and Malea is getting ready for soccer camp.

Rhiana took Malea to camp while we played.

Elena has been tasked with removal of the weeds out back.  She's getting a start on it.

I was sitting on the floor and Mariel came down to join me and sat exactly the same way.  It was so dang cute.

Getting the girls down for naps.

Elena, Malea and I decide to go to a local plant/coffee shop.  When we get there, they don't have hats, so we borrow a couple of Grandpa's that are in the car.  The girls look pretty nice, right?

More Italian Sodas - hmmmm, perhaps we have a trend going.

Ahhhh, my heart.

Elena has a softball game this afternoon and as we are loading everything up, we notice a bunny in the front yard.  This is one of the few "city" animals that we don't see in our yard in Dallas.

Play Ball!  This is just so fun to watch.  I wish I was here to see more games.

Matt, Becca, and Zyra have joined us for the game.

It's fun to have everyone here supporting Elena and enjoying the evening.  Those clouds in the background are moving closer, though, and there's gonna be rain tonight.

Elena is up at bat again -

Ready

Ball is pitched.

And hit --- she brings in a runner.

And makes it to base.

Onto second

The storm is really threatening now.  Lightning all around.  Elena's team makes it 12-2 by the 6th inning so they call the game a win and send everyone home.  I missed out on selfie shots the other day - so here is me and Zyra.

With a photo bomb by Malea.

Congratulations all around.

Check out the clouds now.

Our destination is Camacho's Tacos is the dinner destination and we make it just before the sky unleashes water galore.  Goodness.  Dinner is yummy and the girls are thrilled with dessert.

Meanwhile, rice at the other end.

Works for her.

We get back home and it's time for some fun, family laughter and joy before bed time happens.

At this point, we're all done in and 5:30 tomorrow will come quick.

9th - Granddaughters are so fun to wake up to.

Elena is hard at work out back again and yesterday Grandpa said to go and get her a hoe to help.  While I was at it, more bubbles were be found.  I even managed to find a bubble gun that works crazy cool.  There is a lot of happiness in the back yard today as a result.

Trying for that perfect selfie

The older girls want to do a food truck lunch, so Grandpa takes us during his lunch hour.  We all settle onto the grass, while he just crouches.  Crazy man.  However, the food is really good and everyone is happy with their own choice.

A surprise stop on the way home.

Somehow, Elena stepped on glass.  It takes a village to fix.

Now, the weeding becomes a family affair.

While I am on little duty.

We're going to meet Matt and his family for dinner and Mariel is "ready to go."

Dinner at MacKenzie River Pizza and the patio is perfect for this crew.  I LOVE watching the older kids just sit and have conversations.

Kasey arrived back from guard weekend just in time for dinner and Matt is showing him the mess his backyard had been.

My heart is full when surrounded by family.  I love every minute of it, although this is not the best picture.  Lots of not great faces, lol.

Last selfies are happening.

Even Grandpa gets into the scene.

Perhaps my favorite picture this week ---- love the stance.

A requested selfie.  Perfect.

Or two.  My heart is already sad to be saying good-bye tomorrow morning.

Ahhhh, the final selfie.

Grandpa gets in on some fun with the girls.

While I keep Isla entertained.

It's getting late --- Grandpa is his usual magnet.

10th - We are loaded up and ready to hit the road, but first Rhiana makes a delightful breakfast and we have a bit more time.  It sounds like they will be coming to Bigfork on the weekend, so I'm thrilled to have more time with all of them.  We have loved our stay here, but it's time to get to Mom's.  We have appointments on Monday and Mister needs to get set up once again.  Thank you, Rhiana, for a really nice time.
