Zoo Lights!!

I so love Thursdays as my sweetie usually treats me to great date nights.  Tonight we are attending the Adults-Only Dallas Zoo Lights.  We saw these a couple of years ago with family, but think they have enlarged it and even if not, it's just plain romantic to stroll among the lights.

Upon our arrival, we walk the tunnel -- which is now decorated as Zoodio 54 with extreme strobe lights set to music.  The color change almost constantly as you walk through.  Upon exiting, there is a new display!  These penguins are so cute.

That is as far into the Wilds of Africa side that we can go tonight, but it's further than before so I can't wait to see where future years take us.  Back through the tunnel, we are met by this giraffe at the other end and the Doctor Seuss tree (some would say candy cane, but our brains went straight the other way) with the moon shrouded above.

We take the back route, which we rarely do and come through the Rainbow Arch, which also has music playing.

Stopping to take a picture, Mister volunteers for a selfie.  Wow.  He doesn't really smile, but he did volunteer.

The arch leads us out near Flamingo Pond and these two beauties.

Right on the other side of the path is the Winter Wonderland at The Grove.  So, so many lights and I didn't take a ton of pictures because this area is similar to the last time we were here.  Hey, here is a LINK to that post, just scroll past the family part and enjoy the lights.  Now, back to the present.

Another new item --- these tortoises!!!  Oh yes.

Near the Mini-Train, in the picnic area is another new display.  It is the Whimsical African Watering Hole and I love it so much.

Along the tiger habitat --- lights abound as well.

Making a stop at the Children's Zoo, in the Discovery House we are able to hang with this gentle lady.  She comes right by me for a pet as I sit watching her.  Love it so much.

Our last stop is for the show --- which is short and really good.  All with these lit up "birds" dancing.  Both of us really enjoy it and hope others get a chance to view it as well.  Well, it's a "school night," as Mister says.  Time to head back home.
