The house is clean, all the chores are finished and I'm oh so ready for time with some grandchildren. It has been an extremely long year without them and I am super excited that is has worked out to have Hyrum and Zyra come visit for a few days. Did I make that clear? I am THRILLED!
In fact, I am so excited that I go to the airport super early even though their flight is delayed. Up to the desk I go to get my pass in order to pick them up at the gate and, for the first time ever, have an attendant that is just not nice. Apparently I look like a terrorist today and they have no concern over whether my son and his wife make their connection on -- even though it is on the same airline. I have ALWAYS been able to go in to pick up kids. After giving them my best logic, I am stuck in baggage waiting for the plane to land. As soon as it does, I know that they will have about 10 minutes to drop the kids off, catch the Skylink, and make it to their gate in another terminal. Not risky at all. Argh. I've texted all the information I can to my son and he lets me know when they are at the exit doors where I open the door, tick off the guard and stand firm until he send the kids into my waiting arms. Crazy, but real. At any rate, my babies are in my arms finally.
Grandpa is home working, but by the time we drive home, he is ready to call it a day and the kids have requested walking down to get pizza for dinner. All requests must be met, of course.
With the walk back home, full tummies, and a long day of travel, these two are ready for some sleep. So be it. Tomorrow is a fun filled day ahead of us.
Good morning! We have back to back adventures today. Grandpa makes breakfast for everyone and we are out the door by 9 for some fun while he works today. He will be able to play for the next three days but today, the job calls.
First stop is Autumn at the Arboretum! I want to show the kids the pumpkin village before we go into the Children's Garden. Besides, a couple pictures would be nice too. I really should have taken the sun into account more. (For more pictures on how cool this event is, please click on THIS LINK.)
Now, onto the Children's Garden, which is a direct request from these two. I let them call the shots the entire time and they spend their hours in just the manner desired.

Hey Ya'll, look at Gam
My view as I stand in the tree house -
Behind the waterfall.
As we are walking to the maze, Zyra and I spot these butterflies EVERYWHERE -- it must be monarch sesason
The maze is our last stop and they are ready to depart. Lunch is required and a stop at Wendy's Junior Bacon Cheeseburger is the request. With full tummies, it's time to point the car in the direction of the Children's Aquarium at Fair Park. Yep --- another list item being marked off.
These two are super excited for the stingrays -- and it's feeding time.
Look at those heads just waiting -
Ahhhh, a couple of glances at my sweet sea turtle. Gammy needs her fix too.
We managed to watch the feeding of the sharks, Moray Eels, and the grouper. I have to tell you, the grouper was the most fun, by far. And with that, this day is done and so am I. It's time to head home to Grandpa, some tacos for dinner, and wonderful "cocktails" to go along with it. Why so serious Mister? See y'all tomorrow for another round of fun.
