Our nephew, Bob, called and wanted to get together as his trip to New York was cancelled and he is having a "staycation" in downtown Dallas instead. We'd love to spend some time together and make plans to meet up for coffee and a trip to the Arboretum.
Loving the gardens as we do, we could walk them everyday and the holidays just bring them to life in a fun way that one never tires of. Come along for a few pics.
Mister and I both love this plant and right now -- it has rows and rows of tiny little berries.
LOL -- wanting the water feature in the back and getting my phone shadow on the face along with it.
Change direction ---- now sun in eyes. It's all good. Just the memories are worth it.
Sunlight through a Japanese maple --- simply beautiful.
A stop in the DeGolyer home to view the nativities once more. Each time, I love them all over again and find new ones to share.
Proof that the boys are with me.
These are made from corn husks and other items found in nature.
A magnificent view ---- that's White Rock Lake out there. So crazy jealous.
We found a globe in the library that is older than Mister and I --- from 1957. So many changes since then, including with the United States.
This nativity is carved in a walnut shell. Just take a minute to think about that.
Turned wood ---- beautiful Holy Family
Out on the lake --- there is a crazy large flock of birds on the mve -- swimming towards the dam and it appears that the pelicans are there too. Oooooooh
Can you believe that the azaleas are still blooming here??? It's been such a warm fall.
While nearing the end of our walk, Bob called his parents and they are meeting us for lunch --- with
White Rock Alehouse being selected as the go-to point. I arrive first and get a booth for us before being joined by Mister and Bob. Rick and Penny finish out the group shortly thereafter.
We have a very nice lunch and a chance to catch up on each other's lives. I'm glad it worked out for all today. Merry Christmas to the family!!!
