Scenes from Montana - Days 9-12

7th - Good Morning!  My sweet man so loves to go out for breakfast and since we are still in the weekend --- it works.  Mom is ready to go and we're off.  It's a Somers Cafe for breakfast morning.  Yum - I'm already salivating.  As we park, I notice that there is "ice" on the walkway.  This is the closest we've really gotten to winter while here so far.  Yep, this is HIS plate - good thing he likes pancakes.  Unfortunately for me, I broke a tooth on my bacon.  I know, right?  How crazy is this.  Now I need to figure out what to do about it.  Always when one is away from home.  Argh.

A mural on the side of the cafe.

Yard art --- always worth a quick stop -- but at least this one has something resembling a barn quilt.  The rest of our day is spent relaxing and enjoying a quiet Sunday.

8th -  We are off to Kalispell today so that Mister can pick some things up at the hardware store and I can get my tooth fixed.  Fortunately, Restorative Dentistry was able to have me fixed up in about an hour for a very reasonable price.  My chompers are good to go again and Mister has all the stuff he needs as well.  We've been to Harbor Freight and Home Depot.  The car has lots of goodies in it - but lunch is calling and since I skipped breakfast, I'm hungry.  We decide to check out a new brewery in town - SunRift Beer Company.

Upon our entry, Mister is watching them pour beer and is already unhappy.  We take seats at the bar and there is not a menu anywhere.  Finally, we spot some beer signs up near the ceiling and select from them.  Only after we order do we see a whole other group of signs on the post, out of our line of vision.  Figures.

They go to pour Mister's beer and the keg blows.  Meanwhile, we order some food and take a peek around while they change the keg.

This is our lunch and it was crazy expensive - $23.00 for a sandwich and fries.  It was good, but not that good.

And . . . here's the kicker.  Mister NEVER got his beer.  It is still sitting the same as when they handed it to him.  YES --- they gave it to him that way.  He finally asked for the one he ordered or to have it taken off his bill.  Just not quite there here yet.

It's a gorgeous drive back to the lake and we notice how far down the mountains the snow is traveling.

9th - With tools in hand, we are ready to tackle a few issues in Mom's house.  First up --- under the kitchen sink and the cabinet next to it.  Once cleaned out and after filling two garbage bags, things are under control again.  We have a slight leak under the sink and are trying to figure that out.

This cabinet did house all of her old plastic containers.  We have bought new ones, but they are in the dishwasher right now --- will be placed in here later.

Two more cabinets and two more garbage bags.  Things are looking up.

Whew --- after all that --- a quiet evening - playing with Bailey and reading the paper.  It's been a busy day.

10th - Time spent visiting and doing odd jobs around the house.  My camera took a nap.
