A storm hit this morning, but I slept right through it. Mister said it was a whopper. I guess all this beach walking is good exercise and my body is resting well. At any rate, no wonderful walk this morning as it is still gently raining. One peek outside and then back to bed for a bit.
An hour or so later, it's light, but still no sun and still gently raining.
Ahhhh, the rain has cleared and the sun is starting to show up. It's a VERY quiet beach.
At this point, I go back outside to peek and left the door open behind me - Mister followed and shut the door with our emergency key still inside. We are now locked out of the house with all phones, etc. inside the house. Well, this is interesting. Fortunately, the neighbors in the apartment next to us are still packing to leave and let us use their phone to call the property manager. After many attempts from us and them to get the code to work, they remote unlock another one of the units for us to be inside while we wait for someone to arrive. In less than an hour, the maintenance employee arrives and the code lock is working again. No more lockouts. What an interesting start to the day. Sometimes, that OCD nature makes for interesting consequences.
Coffee and breakfast happen and before we know it, it's almost 11:30. Yep, lost the morning right nicely, didn't we? We're going to try a walk real quick, but will likely cut it short if the sun really starts to bake us. Look at the sand from the storm. It was solid smooth yesterday.
The tide is low as well and we can see the clam holes each time the wave comes in.
At this point, Mister has had enough of reading as well and the water is calling him. First time in since we arrived. I'm not really a whole-hearted, get-in-the-water girl and am content to watch, for now.
He goes further and further until he can just lay and enjoy the calm area between the sandbars. This is also the 5 o'clock beach picture. Seems to happen right on time.
The intent is to walk to the end of the jetty (cos ya just gotta) and on the way we spot this rather large catch happening.
Back to the middle of the jetty and the SAME group we stopped to watch is at it again. This time they have a shark. Yep, you read that right. There have been people fishing all up and down the jetty and we've seen small fish caught as we walk, but this group has by far had the more interesting moments, timed just for us.
Sunset time --- she's going down quick now so I stop and try for a couple of really nice pictures, remembering that I want to be off this jetty before dark. I've had unpleasant experiences by waiting too long.
