Day Before Thanksgiving Family Time

My sweet Mister has family here in Dallas too and sometimes it is hard to work out spending time with both sides over Thanksgiving.  With Jen's group in town, we can't really get away so invited Mom H. and his sister Michelle over for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner.  No turkey, but a wonderful Holiday Ham, with Lemon Thyme Rice, Iron Burnt Green Beans, Salad, Fresh Bread and Strawberry Granita for dessert.  Most of the day was spent in the kitchen, but I loved the time there.

When Jen's family arrive, they have an extra as they are hosting a foreign exchange student this year.  Welcome to the family Leon.

She has her hands full with a house filled by 5 boys right now as Bekah is off to college and was unable to join us for the holiday.

Fortunately, everything turned out decent and all bellies were full when they left the table.  I guess that's good, right?

We visited for a long time after dinner before tackling the kitchen.  What a mess.  The boys have occupied themselves almost all day with cards and do so again while we finish up the dishes.

With many hands, it doesn't take too long and now we are ready for some game time.  Josh has requested the name game and he shall have his wish.

That's about it for tonight.  This room now needs to be turned into a bedroom --- let's start moving furniture and we'll see you in the morning.
