Zoo Fun in Dallas - Everyone Loves the Sun

 We're feeling as though some of our usual routine has been off lately.  It's time to get back on track and do the things we really enjoy.  Our Dallas Zoo membership is one of those things and we're going to put it to good use today.  It's member morning, so we're in early and ready to enjoy the shenanigans that will surely come our way.  First stop is the lemurs and they are out, but just barely.  In fact, one of them came out, grabbed food and went straight back inside.  It IS a bit chilly this morning (56 degrees) and I guess they are not used to it either.  However, a couple others have found some sunlight and are beginning their day outside.  Today's member event is in Zoo North - thus we turn right at the lemurs and come upon the flamingos, also basking in the sunlight.

Out and About - Cottonwood Art Festival

 Weekends are for wandering --- I mentioned to Mister that Cottonwood Art Festival starts today and within half an hour, we are out and heading that direction.  We didn't even stop for coffee (a mistake we find out later, but . . . ) and are there before the crowds.  It's a gorgeous day.

Welcome October -- Arboretum Walking with Pumpkins

 

My favorite month of the year has arrived and we might as well start it out right.  Autumn at the Arboretum is in full swing and I'm ready to soak it all in.  Also, wouldn't hurt either one of us to get some steps in for a change.  This has been a pretty sedentary house since we returned from vacation.  Granted, we were sick, but . . .   I digress.  Onto the pumpkins.  Enjoy the eye candy in this post and let it brighten your day like it does mine.  There is just something beautiful about these colors.

The Medium Adventure Ends - Two More Sea Days and Home - Whew

 With our ports behind us, we've hit the final sea days and are on our way back to Baltimore.  As I walk past the map in the atrium, I thought I'd snap a picture to share.  This shows how totally crazy our trip has been and how we didn't even come close to Greenland.  You can see the backtrack towards Boston and all ---- We hadn't even reached Halifax when the decision to forgo our main destination took place.  The top --- which doesn't show well has us going up and down the Gulf of Lawrence numerous times.  St. Anthony and Corner Brook are further north.

Big Adventure Port 4 - Halifax, Nova Scotia

 The added port for this cruise is Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Today is her day.  She's not Greenland, but we've have a great time no matter what.  I'm ready to go, but . . .we have to get to port first.

 After yesterday, I'm kinda glad for a day to relax.  We have definitely put in some miles with climbing a mountain added in.  Taking it slow - some casino time (I JUST sat down when Mister took this picture, but I DO love the piggies), towel art,  and . . .
