There's a break in the rain and we are racing for the Arboretum to take advantage. It's opening weekend of Autumn at the Arboretum and with over 90,000 pumpkins, squash, and gourds, it's definitely picture worthy.
We arrive during member morning so can't take pictures right away but by the time we get to Neverland, it's after 9 and the cameras come out. These are the ones that are for sale. WOW.

One Heck of a Lot of Water
Sooooo-- records are being broke all around us. We've received word that the highway is open again and perhaps we can weave our way to the dam and see how much water there is. Well, this left turn is out.

Oak Cliff Brewing Grand Opening and Bankhouse Brewing
After our fun at the zoo, it's just a super quick train ride to the opening of the new Oak Cliff Brewing. In fact, it is the very next stop.
Fun At the Zoo - Gorilla's and Hippos Again
Wanting to walk this morning AND hoping for some views of our sweet baby gorilla, Mister and I are off to the zoo. As we enter, there are two new displays out front. That's as close to a rhino as we can get here. Someday, I hope they return.

Saturday Fun at 3 Nations Brewing
We have a bit of free time today and are off to check out a local brewery that we have not been to since it opened oh - - - three years ago. Ugh -- we really need to get in the game a bit better.
At any rate, today's adventure is in Farmer's Branch at 3 Nations Brewing.
The tasting room is right smack dab in the middle of the brewery. One is surrounded by pallets of empty cans piled to the ceiling everywhere you look and the flags of three nations are flying. Do you know the three flags?

Red Hats Abound
It's been awhile since I have been able to attend a Red Hat function. June's was right after we returned from Utah and my sweet man found out he had melanoma cancer. It just felt like I should be with him. Then July came around and I had surgery so that one didn't work either. I've just had surgery again this week, but I'm going to give it a valiant effort. It's hard --- oh so hard to wander out without teeth, but I can't be in complete hiding for the next three months. I'm dressed and ready to be brave.
