Birthday Season Arrives Again

It's the birthday season again.  Woot woot.  Unfortunately, I am not feeling very well.  I returned from retreat with a whopper respiratory thing and have pretty much been down since.  Being the good sport that my sweetie is, he took it all in stride and I will make next years birthday extra special for him.  His treats began with a package of Omaha Steaks from his mom and it included all sorts of yummy stuff.  It also contained a package of dry ice which Mister turns into a bubbling brew and enters the bedroom going, "bwahahahaha."

A few days later I managed to crawl out of bed and we walk down to the coffee shop and then do some shopping.  Mister finds a couple of birthday treats that I'm more than happy to purchase before leaving.  In the evening, we are trying out a new brewery -- Oak Highlands and I gotta say - it's a pretty great place with absolutely great beer.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day.  This is my favorite holiday of the entire year and I am so sick I could not care less.  How sad is that?  Come on, I want to hear you sigh with me.  At any rate, my sweet Mister treated me to flowers and a couple of wonderful cards.  Dinner/fun is out the window as getting out of bed would be cause for celebration.  Perhaps next year.  Enjoy the cards, I sure did.

The red card and roses were in the kitchen when I made my way out for a glass of water.  Ah, tears came to my eyes but I had to shut them down quick.  Tears and being sick DO NOT go together.

The Singers are HERE!

Oooh, oooh oooh.  Guilt works sometimes.  A couple of weeks ago I was talking with my grandson and telling them to ask mom and dad for a visit.  Dad was listening and before the conversation ended, I left a not too subtle hint with him too.  Don't he and Bekah need a Las Vegas weekend?  Wouldn't that break up the winter for them?  That's it.  Enough said.

Two days later, Matt calls and says when I can take the kids?  I tell him that I get back from Amanda's on the 26th, flying into DFW.  We work it out so that they fly in that same evening so that I can get the kids and the two of them will continue onto Vegas for a couple of days before joining us.  Happy Dance!!!!  Now, today is the day.  I have said my good-byes in Telluride and am on my way to DFW.  I only have about an hour to wait before four smiling faces arrive and I give two hugs and send them on their way while scooping up the other two and heading for a waiting Grandpa.  First up is dinner as we are all starved and these two want cheeseburgers.  Hello In N Out.  He doesn't look like it, but Grandpa is happy to see them too.  Really?  How about a smile?

Off To Telluride to Help Amanda Move

18th - Amanda is arriving back into the country today and I am meeting her at the airport where we are travelling back to Colorado together.  We meet up and have about 1/2 an hour before our flight in which she shares with me all of her adventures in Ecuador the past 10 days.  It's crazy but she has been stung by a stingray one day, a jellyfish another day, and experienced an earthquake on still another day.  She has been blessed by a Shaman and arrived safely in Dallas.  WOW.  I don't have much to regale her with after that tale.

It's time to fly and when we land, it is in Durango and we have to drive to Telluride.  Ugh.  Late night for sure and when we get there, it's straight to bed and crash.

Revamping the Office

So, I arrived home from a day with friends to discover the beds totally covered, chairs and armoires shoved everywhere, and general chaos.  Mister has decided to put together his new desk today and in his mind, that means the whole office had to be unloaded.  ????

Just a Night Out

It's Wednesday, which makes this date night a little different, but hey, I'll take it anyway.  Down at the Lakewood Growler there is the little Hispanic lady that comes along on Wednesday and Fridays and quietly asks each person if they want any Tamales.  We have purchased them before and decide that it makes an easy dinner for tonight.  Yes, of course we would like some.  Beer and tamales.  And time with my sweetheart.  Priceless.

Now, getting Mister to take a selfie -- just a wee bit harder.  Such is life.
