Prairie Creek Park Fun

Let's get out of the house and actually do some walking.  It is not 110 degrees anymore and I'll take the 20 degree change with glee.  We have a destination and search out a coffee shop along the way.  Eiland's Coffee pops up and that's new to us, so why not?  Turns out it is in the old Pearl Cup shop, but that doesn't matter.  Mister orders and as I wait nearby, he returns with THREE cups of coffee.  I give him a "what's up" look and just hear, "they made too many."  Okie dokie.  Off we go to Prairie Creek Park.  It's been on my list for some time now and I guess today is the day.  We find a spot to park right near the bridge leading into the park (north end) and, with coffee in hand (one stayed in the car) and cameras ready, we are ready for our walk.

TURTLES below.

The path leads on -

We follow it south -

At the point where it meets up with Fall Creek Drive, we skirt the park on the other side until we can get back to the interior paths.  Lesson learned.  Back on track and heading north this time.

It's warming right up and the humidity is grabbing us.

We hear it before we arrive - first thing I do is cross the rocks to the other side.

And look back - beautiful!  I haven't seen his pictures yet.

Howdy Dear -

Now for the star of the show -

At some point, we are joined by this bittern.  How fun.

I think I'd like to return this fall and take a Christmas Picture for cards.  It's been awhile since we've done that.  The question is:  Will I remember?  Time will tell.  Now for some food -- a stop at Guitars and Growlers fills the need and gives a chance to catch up with friends while there.  All in all --- a good day.
