I've really been struggling this month and sitting in a heap. Mister has decided that some fresh air will help and we are off to the lake to find a smile for a bit. As we arrive, the lake is oh so busy and the pelicans are out in full force. Come along and enjoy the moment with us. I've got a few surprises as well.
So, in the next picture something catches our eye. Center of the picture, towards the top of the water, you can see something moving through the water. You'll probably have to enlarge to see what I am talking about. We follow it as it goes across the lake off to the right of us, where it gets out of the water behind a bush. Muskrat? We're not sure.
I've kept watching the bushes and, by golly, here comes our visitor. It is not a muskrat, but a Nutria. How cool. He cruises on by, hits the creek and swims under the bridge to the other side.
As I'm walking to the other side of the bridge, the coots have come ashore. Their feet are just so funny to me.
There is also a couple of Canadian Geese hanging out. This is another NEW to us at this spot sighting.
The Nutria is just hanging out back on land on the other side of the bridge. It's dinnertime for him/her and I'm loving just watching.
Look at those little hands.
We have one more sighting before leaving the lake, but not a strong enough lens to capture the moment. There is a pair of bald eagles nesting at the lake and we've spotted them in their tree. Flight also took play by one and it was grand. One of those memory moments with no proof.
Late lunch/Early Dinner at Hello Dumpling. This is MY FAVORITE dumpling place in the metroplex. So, so good. Mister did help my mood and I'm thankful. Still very sad, but the beauty of nature is always helpful.
