A Little Out and About

Having set up an appointment to pick up some t-shirts in Haslet this morning, Mister and I decided to just go where the road takes after the shirt retrieval.

For some back story, we didn't leave the house until around 10 and it takes us an hour to get to Haslet.  We didn't even have coffee or ANYTHING before leaving.  That meant that once the shirts were in the car, our first task was to locate a coffee shop nearby.  Froth fit the bill.  It was mere minutes away.  Yes!!

It's a cute little shop - with the emphasis on "little" and by that we are not joking.  The employee lockers are even out in the space.  They DO use every bit of space well though.

A couple coffee and two quiche help the starving tummies and we are almost done before I even think to take a picture.  See --- hungry.

Right before we leave, Mister asks Wes what a "frothable" is and he is so gracious and takes the time to not only explain, but actually steams some milk to show us a sample.  These are kind of cool in that you can even upload a selfie if you wish and it will appear on your drink.  Fun right?

Wes did a simple one as example.  Remember, this was just steamed milk.  All brown/cream is part of the frothable.  Apparently it will stay for quite awhile before dissolving into the drink.

Even though we have just had breakfast, it is after noon and we have driven through downtown Keller and looked around a bit before remembering that Shannon Brewing is up this way.  Must stop.  Slainte Mhaith Y'all ---  in Celtic this means "Good Health" and is their form of Cheers.  How to say it?  Well --- slanj-a-va is close.  As always, the atmosphere and beer are very good here.  It's a great stop and we are ready to continue exploring the area.  Google tells us there is a Buddhist Temple nearby and maybe we'll spot it before leaving.
As it turns out, just as we are starting to leave Keller, I see the top of the temple from the road.  About face!!  As we drive up, there is signage telling us the temple is closed to the public due to COVID but the gates are open and we can drive through to see.  Perfect.

Most of the little cubbies on the temple contain a gold Buddha.

Towards the back is another building with dragons guarding the entrance.

One last look and it's time for us to depart.  That's it for our little "drive with no destination" for today.  You never know what we'll find around the Metroplex.
