It's been a minute or two since we walked at the lake. It's time. Here in Texas, autumn is the best weather for walking and we really need to start implementing it more into our lives. Today, coffee and scones in hand, we are at the water's edge, just moseying. If you look REALLY close, you will see that every single post is occupied with the exception of a short one.
We come to a bend in the lake and spot a ton of birds off in the distance. There are even pelicans.
Again, ya really gotta look close, but there is a blue heron in this picture.
We keep walking, thinking perhaps we can work our way to the birds, but nope. It would take a really long time as the marsh goes on for a bit. No worries, Mister thinks he knows a pier out by them. Woohoo. Back to the car.
He's right --- as we walk up, the view is so fun and busy.
In flight --- diving for food -- so much going on.
A group of Mallard males swim out into the sunlight just for me. Hey -- don't burst my bubble.
Mister says to follow and I soon find myself crossing a hidden bridge.
Finding a spot to sit and dangling my legs over the side, this little guy just can't help but come to say howdy.
I think I can sit here all day.
Changing of the guards. One swam over from the group on the left and one left the group on the right to take his/her place. So interesting to watch.
One final glance and it's time to go. What a great place to sit and enjoy the morning.
