Every now and then days are just plum full. Today is one of those.
Mister has found a new coffee shop to start our day with. It's always fun to explore our own area and this one is just right down the road a bit. Called Houndstooth Coffee, I am eager to give it a try. Sitting off to the side of a large complex, it comprises two buildings.
Into the first door we go - Now, I admit, that with that logo, I truly was expecting to see a hat SOMEWHERE inside, but nada. Hmmm.
It is a streamlined shop utilizing a small space very effectively. There is minimal seating in the shop itself but the second building is full of tables and seats for visiting. I don't see many taking advantage of it as most of the coffee bought is to go.
We are dinosaurs, however, and order ours in mugs and settle in to the few seats at the bar to watch and soak up atmosphere.
The coffee is wonderful as is the bread. We are impressed with the two men working as they really do interact nicely with the customers. They know their regulars and make them feel super welcome in addition to helping newbies like us feel at home.
Before we drive away, I try and grab another quick picture of the second building and the walkway between. I'm still not sold on the concept, but it certainly is unique.
From there, we are off to the grocery store for Mom and then a delivery plus visit ensue. Several hours later, it's time to finish the task list for today. I need a couple of gifts for upcoming parties and the Tuesday Morning Warehouse is on our way home. Perfect. I DO find just what I am looking for and am amazed at the amount of fabric on the shelves as well. I'm still being good or several of those would have come home with me.
It is already the second of December and believe it or not, our front yard is under about 3 inches or more of leaves. They have not been cleaned up even once and I think our yard service has finally put the last nail in it's own coffin.
I can't take it anymore and grab some rakes and start in on the front yard. THREE hours later, with Mister's amazing help, we have found the bushes and the lawn. The back is still a disaster, but at least we are not the sore of the neighborhood anymore. With limited time before dark, we grab the outdoor decorations and soon have another task off the list. We are absolutely exhausted, but at least it's done. I'll get a better picture later, but for now -- proof that the lawn was leaf free for a brief moment.
Mere moments after taking the above picture, I glance out the front door and see a beautiful glow. Mister spots it out the window at the same time and we both head outside. What a gorgeous sunset to end this very busy day.
