Christmas Family Time

Christmas Morning and I'm in my usual spot.  Sipping tea while it is still dark out and enjoying the glow of the tree.  It's the calmest part of the day and I adore it.  Some reading and some reflecting top it off and I can truly start the day with the right attitude.  Merry Christmas!!!

Gift opening is pretty non-photographed this year as I am still not a happy camper with pictures.  Someday.  However, Mister and his wine is a picture that is always required.  Thank you Matt and Rhiana.

The spoils.  Family has spoiled us tremendously.  Truly.  We simply could not be more blessed.  Phone calls top off the day and all is well in my world -- at least as good as it can be without any kids or grands around.  Perhaps next year.

Next was a mad flurry in the kitchen as we prepared our side dish (purple cauliflower mash) and the rest of the fixings for the pavlova.  Now it's time to dress and join the family.

Oooooh, my pavlova turned out just so dang pretty and the best part is that it tastes awesome!!!  I am not joking -- I even enjoyed 2 pieces.  If you would like to make one, THIS LINK will take you to the post where I share the recipe.

A little family time and gifts all around.

Mister drew his sister-in-laws name this year and we gifted her with a quilt.  Yes, they are hard to part with but it feels good to do so.

And that's all the pics we took.  It was a nice day, filled with love.  What more can one ask for?
