It's another beautiful day and we are heading up to the cabin for a little getaway. Kaylene is driving so I take up residency in the back seat with Ophelia. Isn't she styling? We talk and play games the whole way there -- oh, and eat goldfish, of course.
Paul and Scott have arrived before us, so the fires are already going and oh my goodness I do love that warmth. Nothing else can warm the backside like a roaring fire. It feels so nice.
Ophelia is watching Daddy get the four wheeler ready for a ride. She can't wait to get on the "mo-mo".
And Momma is doing anything she can think of to hold her off til Daddy is ready.
Let's go guys . . .
During their ride, Kaylene and I get to have a wonderful visit and gush about the wonders of our granddaughter. Yep, that's what grandmas do. When Cassie returns, she offers to take me up the mountain on the four wheeler with her. I remind her that I can't do really bumpy stuff and she gently reminds back that she is pregnant so can't do that either. Duh.
View from the top: (that's the cabin down there)
Ah, my baby
Since I am selfie inept and my lens doesn't work right, Cassie takes over and does it the old fashioned way. We have no idea where the camera actually is. Look what a great job she does. I LOVE these pictures.
After a late lunch/early dinner, it's time to pack up and start the trek back to Provo. As Ophelia crawls into this rocker, I am reminded of the old Edith Ann skits. Cute.
The rest of the evening is spent just relaxing --- and watching Oph. If you click on the video, watch how she manipulates the phone to find the videos she wants. I always have to remember that she is not even 2. Crazy. It's been a great day. I'm ready for some down time and will see ya again tomorrow.
It's Sunday and Scott had to leave this morning for a work trip. That means we are on our own again and Oph sleeps in a bit. Once she is up, we get to play for awhile and then are treated to a wonderful breakfast made by Cassie. Ophelia is not quite as enamoured with it, sending some of it flying around the dining room. That earns her some quality "time out" in her chair.
I gotta tell ya, watching her makes me smile so I have to keep turning my head.
Let's get out of the house for awhile and see if we can wear her out a bit. Back to the playground we go -- with L'il Red in hand. Ahhh, my heart. What am I talking about? Well this darling little set that I made her.
Once again, feed the ducks, then swing, then slides. She's got this down. Enjoy the pictures.
I absolutely LOVE this one.
She's such a brave little soul. Yep, she's hanging.
Hey Gammy! Look at me. I'm climbing the high stairs.
She is now going down the slide all by herself, leaving Momma to wait and meet her for the walk up again. After awhile, the stairs are just not challenging enough. We must now climb up.
We have such a great time and actually do manage to wear her out entirely. She can no longer even get up the stairs. Yay us.
Home for lunch and a nap. Cassie is going to a temple dedication, leaving me and Oph at the house. Quiet time for sure.
After naps, we are off to dinner with Paula nd Kaylene. Missy is still a bit tired and doesn't eat very well, but certainly behaves like a champ. Love the open mouth pictures. Hahaha.
