Spring Break at Daytona Beach - Days 3 & 4

Good morning!  Mister and I have decided to get up and watch the sunrise.  It's a new day and I want to see it from start to finish.  Behind us, the moon is still visible between the buildings and the tide is just now coming in.  Enjoy.

Spring Break at Daytona Beach - Days 1 & 2

It's HERE!  Last Christmas, Rhiana and Kasey gave us a week with them at Daytona Beach as our gift.  We've been looking forward to it ever since.  The day has finally arrived and we left Dallas bright and early -- Hello Atlanta!  We're only here for less than an hour and on our way again.

Upon arriving in Daytona,we catch the local bus outside of the airport and are on our way down the Ponce Inlet towards the condo.

Yes, it's on the inlet, which means we have to cross over the bay.  Oh, it's a beautiful day here.

Mister Was Planting and Peach Blossoms

I just returned from retreat and Mister has been planting again.  This time the mint is in a pot near the butterfly bush and the herbs are in the ground out front.

I'm Walking Again -- Japanese Maples in the 'Hood

Since I am back walking once again - yes, one can only gain so much weight before intelligence takes over - I thought that during today's jaunt through the 'hood, I'd spotlight some of the many gorgeous Japanese Maples in the area.  They are, after all, in their peak color right now.  Enjoy.

The Joys of a Sunday in the Texas Spring

I've just returned from 10 days away from my sweetheart.  It is a crazy rainy morning, thus we are off to coffee and some shopping.  Makes sense, right?

After stops at Central Market and for some plants, the rain has stopped and Mister has a chance to get some of the stuff planted.  I, on the other hand, am content to sit on the porch with a glass of wine and enjoy the, now, lovely spring day.

Look at the lovely butterfly bush we bought (Lantana) along with several other fun surprises.

Ten Days in Telluride - Days 6-10

27th -  After an interesting start to the day,  . . .  Oh you want to know what?  Well, I took the boys to the bus stop with their la crosse equipment like Amanda had instructed.  When the bus arrived, I was informed that they can't bring the sticks on board.  Okay.  So as the bus pulls away I notice that Ryan has left his backpack in the car too.  Without much choice, I slowly follow the bus into town to deliver the sticks and the  backpack.  I decide to stop for a coffee but discover that since I had only planned on going to the bus stop, I have no purse.  Grrrr.  Back home I go.  Now back to this entry.

The kids are back in school and I'm actually going to work on a project or two or three.  Yes, I have three retreat projects going for April and May.  It's a lot of pencil and fusible web work today with some ironing thrown in for good measure.  worked on project ALL DAY, Late pickup of Raef chicken and pasta in oven for ryan to handle  had to go to town first thing as lacrosse gear not allowed on bus

Caleb rides the bus home all by himself and that is a big deal.  I pick him up at the stop and offer cookies when he walks in.  I love the way he is sitting.  Too cute.

Ten Days in Telluride - Days 1-5

I am once again on the way to Telluride for some fun with my grandsons.  This time I have 10 days and know that most of that will be down time while they are in school.  The part where they aren't -- well let's have some fun.

I am dropped off at the airport nice and early and am flying out of terminal D.  That means there are nice places to grab something to eat and even the coffee choices are not limited to Starbucks and their over roasted beans.  I spot Lavazza and am thrilled for the choice.  With a drink and pastry in my hand, it's time to sit and wait at the gate.  At least in this terminal, even the seating is awesome.  The reason I share this is because I have to focus on the good things happening at this airport.  There are way too many bad things due to security.  Our swift in and out airport is disappearing.  So sad.  Time to camp.
