Good Morning Dallas Zoo

It's been a month since our last jaunt to the zoo --- seems like a great way to start the morning and get our day rolling.  It's Member Morning and today the presentation is in the Reptile Building.  It was on the Texas Horned Lizard, but I didn't get any pictures of the tiny babies they had to show.  However, we did wander the building a bit and managed to get sooooo lucky with this moment of skin shedding.  I noticed that the snake was sliding along against the bamboo and tree when the loose skin caught hold, helping the rest to just come right off.

If you want to watch the process ---- here ya go:

We stopped in at the new butterfly exhibit and enjoyed the beauty of these magnificent creatures.  Banded Orange Heliconian, for starters.

Tiger Longwing:

Zebra Longwing:

Postman Butterfly:

From the butterflies to check out the Capybara's.  They are having a dip in the water.

Giant tortoises are out --- so, so fun.

Well, maybe not.  Hahahaha.

Mister headed off for a cup of coffee, which turned out to be AWFUL and he spent $7 on it.  He won't make that mistake again.  Kind of looks like he belongs at the zoo with his clothing, right?

Klipspringer alert!  Should I say, "Klipspringer on alert?"

So ----- why I have a picture of elephant porn is beyond me, but I'm sharing anyway.  It's a hysterical note to end on.
