Austin Getaway - Just Us Two - Day 2

Good Morning from out little haven.  We are having tea on the porch and doing a little bird watchin.

Our little abode is between Dripping Springs and Austin so we are off to the prior to explore.  Locating a craft fair, we stop in, find coffee and enjoy the atmosphere.  A few Christmas gifts even find their way home with us.

There is a quilt shop nearby, so we make a stop in there.

Now to locate something peaceful and relaxing.  Lone Mountain Brewing Company is house along with a winery in this building.

Looking out from the front door.

Finding a nice spot on the patio, we hear music playing nearby and decide to go and see what's up.

Across the property, behind the buildings we saw earlier, we discover this wonderful spot.  Once again - VERY few people out and about and a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Moving on after a lovely stay, I spot this along our drive.

Next is Ghost Note Brewing - time for food.  It's a lovely area and we are noticing that down in this area all breweries are based around outdoor areas, unlike the DFW area.

Lunch from the food truck - but where are all the people?

Trying again - Back into Dripping Springs and Acopon Brewing.  I look up the meaning of the word and we laugh as this is what Google has to say:  "Acopon is an Old English word that means a health tonic or restorative. It can also refer to Acopon Brewing Co., a brewpub in Dripping Springs, Texas that specializes in English ales."  Well, it appears we got it right.

This time, there are people arriving.  However, it is a private party and we only have time to sit for a bit before we're done.  It may seem like our day is centered around beer, but we usually find it the best way to talk to locals.  Not today, though.

One more attempt.  12 Fox Brewing Company is supposed to have caroling tonight and we are hopeful to join in.  Upon our arrival, though, once again no one is about.  This just seems so crazy to us.  Did the world suffer a major catastrophe this weekend and while in our bubble we didn't hear?

Another huge, empty area.

A little fun does ensue.

Well, we're done.  This whole process has been weird, but we've had a great time together.  See ya tomorrow.
