Sunday Driving

We have been sooo good at staying home, but just can't take it anymore.  I have a group event on Thursday, so we cannot have any human interaction, but driving and breathing a bit of fresh air is required today.

Into the car we go and after picking up some donuts and coffee, it's Lake Lewisville for our destination.  A picnic bench far away from others and the morning is spot on.

I've not been to Old Town Lewisville, so a drive through seems right.  This mural grabs my attention and I need to step out for a picture.  Yes -- need.  Ya gotta click on it and look close.  Wonderful!

Just driving.  No real destination in mind except the thought of Lake Texoma, we find ourselves in Marietta, OK, with it's lovely courthouse -

and very funky water tower.  Love, love, love.  Thank you to the clouds.

The old train depot catches Mister's eye and I think he is wishing he had brought his good camera.  Check out all the birds.

Forty minutes later, we have located a secluded area to sit and relax along the shore of Lake Texoma.

I want to check out the Eisenhower State Park and walk the caves, so another hour of driving has us there, but apparently they are closed for repairs.  Wonderful.  It's time to head south again.

All day in the car.  Donuts and coffee.  It's now 3:45 and I'm starving.  Cellarman's Pub and Brewery is in Sherman and they have just recently re-opened.  A spot away from everyone else is found and some amazing Fish and Chips are devoured along with a great beer.  Can't have two though as we are driving AND don't wish to use a public restroom just yet.  We can make it.  It has been a great day together and so very needed.  My sweetie really should step away from the computer more often - work is getting him down.  At any rate --- three more days inside and then I'm off to be with friends.  Hallelujah.
