Mister Plans a Day

My sweet man has a whole day planned for us and I'm along for the ride.  I truly love when he does this.  We do the errands, drop groceries off at Mom's and then are off for a fun day.  Next stop is the farmer's market.  More than one vendor receives our money, but lots of fresh, delicious treats are in the car.

A quick stop at home for lunch and it's back out for a drive.  Rockwall is the destination and I'm kind of in the dark as to the exact location being sought, until he's just not sure on the final turn.  GPS helps and soon Hemisphere Brewing's parking lot holds our car.

It's rather dark inside, but friendly and ready to serve.  That's a winning combination.

A delightful conversation ensues and we even meet another brewery hopping couple.  I wonder if they're on the same path as us today.

Since Mister has more stops in mind, we are one and done for this one and moving just down the road -- literally.  Less than 500 ft away is a second brewery.  This time it is Woodcreek Brewing Company.  What a completely different atmosphere!  From the minute we walk up, it's obvious that things are not the same here.

It is bright and spacious for starters.

More of a limited menu, but not a computerized board.  I like it.  I also like $5 pints.  MORE breweries should be like this.  I mean, seriously, no shipping expenses or middle man at all.

One and done again and this time we are going to Royce City for the next stop.

Stopping in at Thirsty Bro, we find a couple spots at the bar, in a hidden corner.  Terry Gordon, owner, is behind the bar and sets us up.  We have a GREAT visit with him and learn all about the new plans for expansion that are taking place up here.  I really want to try the porter, but only a portion of a glass can be poured.  All right, now what?

In our own little corner, there is a sign about the move and lots of beer to go.

Music will begin shortly as well and the musician is setting up.  So . . . . we talk with him for a bit as well.  This little corner really is a great place to sit, but I decide to talk a small walk through the building and check it all out.  (Way left -- Mister in our little nook.)

The restroom is at the back of the brewery so a quick look in there too.

Tankard Club.

More of our corner.

Current location on Main Street.
