College Graduation for Bob

I am leaving retreat super early this morning as my nephew is graduating from college in Dallas today.  That means I am beating the sun.  Yay!  Not.  We were up late last night enjoying the last night at Brazos until October.  It was a short night, for sure.

As I'm driving, the sun starts to rise.  I love these moments so very much.

Here she comes.  I know what you are thinking.  How is she getting these pictures?  Simply, I am stopping.

I arrive home around 7:45 a.m. and have 30 minutes to shower and dress.  Out to the door we go at 8:15 and are straight off to the college.  Finding parking, coffee, and a place to sit become the order of business and we are settled just moments before the processional begins.  I think the set up is crazy, but as luck would have it, we are right next to the grads as they walk in.  Seriously, right next to it.  Here they come . .

We spend most of our time after Bob passes, just watching the never ending stream of feet go by.  It's actually quite entertaining.  Some of the choices are dang funny, others just plain strange.

THREE hours and a movement of our chairs into the shade later, it is done.  He is graduated.  As they come close to calling his name, we move up to the front and I do my best to get at least on picture.

However, he walks right directly at me after and that gives me a much better moment.  Success.  And . . . .we are outta here and off to the house to meet Mom and Michelle.

Lunch, conversation, and laughter ensue before calling it a day to take Mom back home.  A few pictures put the moment on film --- well a digital card at least.  Congrats to the clan.

And now ---- to end this Mother's Day (yes, it just puts it all in perspective, doesn't it?).  Let's all just breathe.
