Even though it is a bit overcast today, I had a taste of the Arboretum on Friday and want to walk again. Mister readily accepts and we are soon on our way. There will be minimal comments in this post. It is all about the eye candy. Yum.
The new grotto through Mister's eyes. (Through my eyes can be found in THIS post.)
My sweetie helped to tame my hair today. Yay for a braid.
We start out walking and by the time we make it to the grotto, it is nine o'clock and we are able to photograph to our hearts desires. I know that Mister is in the mood to do just that so I just wander slowly through areas and let him do his thing. You can't rush him when he is in this mood. It takes several setting for each picture to get just the effect he desires.
Crepe Myrtle ring in the new Lay's Garden with the grotto in the background.
Moss on rocks in Dallas -- not often seen. As a sidenote, it is also growing on our driveway. Yes, it's been rainy here.
The calm of the gardens can never be described in words. To simply hear birds singing all around and water bubbling here and there is such a testament to this place. At no time do I think I am in the middle of the city.
This poor worm is looking for someplace dry too.
Test gardens - yes that is Mister in the upper left on one of them.
Perfection.
I always wonder what it is that Mister sees through the lens and try to hunt down the picture later.
After a quick shot to catch these two beauties, he turned his camera towards a tulip bed.
Here is what he sees: (its all a matter of perspective)
The azaleas are just starting to bloom. We WILL be back next week to see these.
Mister and Lady
It's as though he wanted his picture taken for he truly held still and posed.
Again, what is he seeing over that bush that is so special?
Beautiful tulips standing tall and proud.
Now for a true work of art. The beauty of the camellia. At first glace I think it is a rose, but am wrong. How gorgeous.
Meanwhile I have located these beauties and am pulled in by their aroma and beauty. I swear I am going to do a quilt in purple and green soon.
As we are leaving, this little guy makes an appearance nearby. We never get robins in our yard - so sad - and love to see them here.
Outside the gates there is always an opportunity for beautiful pictures. Mister has commented several times that a good mornings photo work can be done right here - never entering the actual estate grounds. What do you think?
It is 11:00 by the time we leave and we want to check out Lakewood Brewery's new taproom which opens at noon. It's time for some food in our bellies and right near the taproom, we find a little Mexican restaurant that fits the bill.
We walk through the doors and are instantly in Mexico. Seriously. We are the only white people in the restaurant, the menus are in Spanish, and the television is has a program on it with English subtitles. Oh yeah -- this is authentic. Fun fun. Next stop: the brewery and then home for a nice Saturday afternoon nap. I hope your eyes and soul are calmed with the beauty on this page.
