It is time to get out of the house. A trip down to White Rock Lake always calms the soul and allows nature to permeate and relax us. As we approach the Pelican viewing point, a Mama Duck and her little ducklings catch our eye. Do you see them?
Perhaps now? They are on the move.
They maneuver themselves under the dock and come out to the vegetation on the other side. Mama definitely knows we are here.
In fact, she comes up to say hi.
Then she returns to herding her large brood as they are quite the chore to keep track of.
Meanwhile, out on the pelicanless water, an egret is stalking prey.
Since we've come down later in the evening. The sunset is just beginning. Yep, that is a grocery cart in the water. Been there for a very long time. This lake needs some work, for sure, and we have fingers crossed that they start the dredging soon.
Mama comes up on shore with the gang.
Ahhhh - this is just so beautiful.
