Sailing on White Rock Lake

It hasn't even been a solid 24 hours since we returned from Montana, but I booked this night a LONG time ago.  Here in Dallas, on White Rock Lake, is a sailboat called the Dallas Spirit.  It sails several times and week and does sunset cruises in addition to the afternoon ones.  The amazing part ---- it's all free!  Yep, you read that right.  Crazy, but oh so cool.  They are hard to get - go figure - as they book quickly, but it can be done.  Perhaps not this year, but maybe 2020.

Our sail starts at 7 and goes until about 8:30-45 or so.  We arrive on time and are quickly welcomed on board and before we know it, the sails are up and we are heading out.

It's a beautiful night.  Honestly!!  It's clear and dry.  I am soaking up the ambiance of being on water and laying back in Mister's arms.  Perfection.

The sun is starting to make it's way down already --- so, so peaceful.

GREAT Mother/Daughter staff.  They treated us amazing and taught so much as well.  One of the stories was about the Lady of the Lake.  If you'd like to learn more about it, check out this link: https://whiterocklake.org/white-rock-lake/lady-of-the-lake/

The Bath House is simply glowing in the evening light.  Isn't this wonderful?  If you want to learn a little about its history, here is another link for you:  http://bathhouse.dallasculture.org/about/

It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but that is downtown Dallas in the distance.  It truly is a clear, humid free night.

Ahhhhh

And that's it --- we'll be turning back towards the dock now ----

Looking away from the sunset and towards the shore again, a paddle boarder with his dog cross our bath on the way back.  There is no swimming in White Rock Lake nor are motors over a certain size allowed.  Sailboat regattas, rowing teams, paddle boards, and kayaks can all be found here.

And back to the west - my heart is calm and happy.

Talking Mister into a selfie is akin to pulling teeth --- but he acquiesces.

OH my --- it just keeps getting better and better.

He looks at home out here, doesn't he?

Happy with this angle --- looking slim.  Hahahahaha --- such a deceptive picture.

And we're back.  What a magical night --- now what can we find on shore?

Lightning bugs!!!!  A bit of added enjoyment and then it's time to go home.  Such a crazy cool night together.
