Ten Days in Telluride - Days 6-10

27th -  After an interesting start to the day,  . . .  Oh you want to know what?  Well, I took the boys to the bus stop with their la crosse equipment like Amanda had instructed.  When the bus arrived, I was informed that they can't bring the sticks on board.  Okay.  So as the bus pulls away I notice that Ryan has left his backpack in the car too.  Without much choice, I slowly follow the bus into town to deliver the sticks and the  backpack.  I decide to stop for a coffee but discover that since I had only planned on going to the bus stop, I have no purse.  Grrrr.  Back home I go.  Now back to this entry.

The kids are back in school and I'm actually going to work on a project or two or three.  Yes, I have three retreat projects going for April and May.  It's a lot of pencil and fusible web work today with some ironing thrown in for good measure.  worked on project ALL DAY, Late pickup of Raef chicken and pasta in oven for ryan to handle  had to go to town first thing as lacrosse gear not allowed on bus

Caleb rides the bus home all by himself and that is a big deal.  I pick him up at the stop and offer cookies when he walks in.  I love the way he is sitting.  Too cute.

Ten Days in Telluride - Days 1-5

I am once again on the way to Telluride for some fun with my grandsons.  This time I have 10 days and know that most of that will be down time while they are in school.  The part where they aren't -- well let's have some fun.

I am dropped off at the airport nice and early and am flying out of terminal D.  That means there are nice places to grab something to eat and even the coffee choices are not limited to Starbucks and their over roasted beans.  I spot Lavazza and am thrilled for the choice.  With a drink and pastry in my hand, it's time to sit and wait at the gate.  At least in this terminal, even the seating is awesome.  The reason I share this is because I have to focus on the good things happening at this airport.  There are way too many bad things due to security.  Our swift in and out airport is disappearing.  So sad.  Time to camp.

Sweetie Time

After returning from retreat, I ask Mister for a quick date night and he is happy to oblige.  What a sweet man.

Spring is in the air and beer is on the counter.  Perfect.

Let's Add Some Color to the Porch

I am once again leaving town and Mister is on his own.  Perhaps he needs something to do?  While out grocery shopping, I find myself filling the cart with these plants.  This is easy, he just needs to feed them and hang on the front porch.  Instant decor.

When I return, I discover that he has done just that and it looks lovely.  Hello Spring.

D.C. With Jen and Jacob

I have been given the choice opportunity to once again go to Washington D.C. with my daughter and grandson.  Two years ago it was with Jon and now it is Jacob's turn.  Today is the day we depart.  My fight is not until almost 10 a.m. but the bus from Abilene is arriving early and we are on our way to check in with them.  Along the way, Mister discovers that he timed the trip for the bus as if it was going to our house.  Thus, we are now late.  Great start for a trip.

I arrive at the airport and have to wait outside security until someone inside can get my boarding pass to me.  After about 1/2 an hour, I am able to meet up with Jen and Jacob and begin the wait for our fight in BRIGHT NEON t-shirts to boot.  Yep, with my red hair, this is quite lovely.

Wine Night Out

Jimmy's is having a wine walk complete with antipasti, thus that is our destination tonight.  We need pasta and sauce anyway so it's a great excuse to kill two birds with one stone.

I love these nights with my sweetheart.  I ALWAYS learn something new and it helps me to understand the wines that I enjoy.  Tonight is all about Tuscany.  Sangiovese is their main grape and since it is one of my favorites, all is right in my world.  Thank you, Mister, for another wonderful impromptu date night.

ROBINS!!!

We NEVER have robins and today there are about a dozen of them in the backyard.  These three were right up next to the sliding glass door.  What a beautiful start to my day.
