Autumn Montana Trip - Days 1-3

It's time for the annual fall trek to Montana and this time we are starting out a bit different.   In our area of Dallas, we were able to be picked up by DART right at our house and taken to the train station.  From here, it's a leisurely ride to the airport with only one transfer downtown.  Easy peasy.  Price can't be beat and no car to pay parking charges on.  Win win.

Up, up and away.

Salt Lake City comes into view for our connection to Montana,

And our long day comes to an end as we descend into the Flathead Valley.

The airport here finally reaching some finishes and it's gorgeous.  Now we're off to Mom's and some relaxing.

20th -  Into Bigfork this morning for a family breakfast and the restaurant doesn't open as early as we thought so there is some time to kill.  A quick stop at the store and fall is on display.

From there, we go over to Jill's house to hang for about half an hour.  Kids are out playing and it time for some fun.

I said - it's time for some fun.

I meant it.

All the pretty colors - makes my heart happy.

Breakfast time - at Split Rock - not the best pictures, but better than nothing.

After, we go downtown to check out the scarecrows on display.  So, so fun.

LOVE the second one here - Luke's.  I'm a Gilmore Girls fan so am giggling as I photograph it.

I LOVE Scarecrows so much.  It's why they are all over my porch right now, too.

One last find -

Throw in more colors of autumn and I'm a happy girl.  Mister and I are out for a walk this afternoon.

We make our way down the highway a bit for a stop in at the Raven.  Music is on the deck and the place is filling up.  It's their last day to be open - so we timed it perfectly.  We meet the new owners and hope they do well.

Ahhhh

Someone doesn't want their picture taken - too bad.

Such a beautiful day and view.

21st - I'm going through recipes, trying to find an old cookie recipe of Mom's to try for the cookie party in December.  I've come across her handwritten copy of Steak Rice and am hoping a photo will help me read it.  It works.

And the cookies - I remember these as a kid.  Not much else happens today - kinda quiet.
