Bermuda Trip - Day 3 New York City and Board Carnival Venezia

Good Morning!  It is another change venue day for us and an errand has to happen before we check out of our hotel.   Hello Empire State Building - perhaps next visit we'll make our second journey up to your lookout.

Our last day in New York for this visit and we are off to Macy's.  For some reason, Mister neglected to pack a pair of nice pants for our cruise and needs must be met.

As we head to the men's department in Macy's, we discover these original, cool escalators.  Wow.  Yep, we take a ride as they go where we need to be.

Pants purchased and we are on the move again.  Our subway entrance/exit is right beside this gorgeous area.

Mister spots a building he wants to check out and we walk over.  It is the Central Synagogue, but, sadly, it is not open today.  It is the oldest synagogue building in continuous use in New York City.  The congregation was established in the early 1800s and this temple was completed in 1872.  On the list for our next visit as they are open to the public on Wednesdays.

Heading back to the hotel to pack up and catch a Lyft to the port.  Last walking view.

The ride to the port seems very convoluted and crazy due to detours, but we arrive with plenty of time to spare.  We had an earlier arrival time, but as long as we make the ship, it doesn't matter.  First peeks at our ship.

This place is PACKED!!  Fortunately, my platinum level helps AND the fact that we had an earlier time adds to that as well.

There she is --- boarding now

Immediately upon boarding, a trip is made to muster and then straight to our room.  Ahhh.  We are trying something new this trip.  A Cove Balcony and here's to hoping that we love it.  First thing Mister did was fix the curtain - love my own Mr. Monk.

The Venezia is very Italian.  You can see it everywhere.

Our Balcony - sits right below the lifeboats so no one can see in from above and we are just right at the water's edge.  Very private and kinda cool.

Our home for the next week.

As we are in the room, Mister notices a barge positioning next to us to deliver fuel

Now to check out the ship.  I'll share pictures over each post for the next few days - making sure you can see all of this gorgeous vessel.  the main atrium - Piazza San Marco

Teatro Rosso

Seating area by the Frizzante Bar

Lido Pool - I'll have much better pictures later

It's time for sail away and we've located a spot on Serenity to watch (pictures of Serenity later when not so many people).  The USS Growler beside us - hmmmn.  I may have to research that one.

Across the river - New Jersey.

We spotted this head from the ferry ride - a wee bit closer.  It is called “Water's Soul.” The statue's white head sits in front of tall buildings in Jersey City's Newport waterfront in New Jersey, facing the Hudson River. It stands directly across from Greenwich Village and about six kilometers from the Statue of Liberty.

Because we just don't have enough pictures of Lady Liberty.

LOVE

It's a bit windy here and Mister is taking pictures for many people, leaving me doubling up on Negronis.

Ahhhh -

Both states and proof that we are on a cruise ship.

The Hudson is a VERY busy river.

Coming up on The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge - The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge is a suspension bridge connecting the New York City boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn. It spans the Narrows, a body of water linking the relatively enclosed New York Harbor with Lower New York Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It is the only fixed crossing of the Narrows.

Not a lot of room left.

Looking back -

Out to sea -- officially.

A little wandering - the decks are empty once sail away completes.  People are off to early dinner (we have late) and we take advantage of our time.

After a nice evening together - good dinner, night show and wandering, we are back at the room and checking out the balcony.  End of another great day and August is behind us.  Whew - it sure has had its ups and downs.  See ya in the morning.
