Ennis is the destination as I'm hoping at least a few of the bluebonnets are out and my heart can bask in their beauty. It's not really very far from Dallas and although there are other cars on the road, it's NOTHING like a normal Saturday in the city. Using an old Bluebonnet Trails map, we turn off for the upper loop and within moments spot these fun friends. They are just as interested in us as we are in them. Soooo fun.
It's only a few mile down the road and we are soon at my favorite place. Each year for as long as I can remember, Mister stops here and we get out to walk. The fields are beautiful and no matter how hard I try, the pictures just never do it justice. (He has taken pictures too and I will add them to the end of this post when he has them developed - I'm sure he has me getting up close and personal with these beauties.) Until then, just enjoy ---- slight angle adjustments for these first few and the whole picture changes.
Possibly my two favorite shots --
See --- I have proof that he took pictures too.
Moving on --- the pond with the white swans catches my eye (Mister is out with his camera across the road - I can't wait to see those photos.)
An egret with a nice catch hanging from his beak.
As we round a bend, the color here is amazing. This time I do leave the car and take a ton of pictures BUT something went wrong with my camera. I have no idea what happened but I struggled just to get a few that weren't terrible. Try to imagine this color all around.
Oh, if a camera could only show what the eyes see. This green meadow has a HUGE field of solid blue behind it.
I'll try and zoom in.
Perhaps a little more - can you begin to see it? We can't drive to it but it looks incredible.
Well, that's the end of my pictures BUT --- Mister just sent me some of his.
And a tidbit from our backyard.
The last thing: this was spotted in Ferris, TX on the way home. One of those things that make you go Hmmmm. And we did it. Three hours out of the house, not a single interaction with another human, and home before the storm hit. I'm revived and ready for another week. I'll call it a success.
