Up here in Bigfork, Montana, there is always something fun happening. Well, at least at this time of year. This morning, we are in town to meet up with Jill for coffee and some fun. Obviously, the out-of-towners are dressed different than the locals. Too funny.

Montana to Help Mom - Days 7-9
Happy May Day!!! We ae still in Montana and enjoying the pretty day. Mom has a doctor's appointment and a grocery stop happens. In the afternoon, Mister and I take a walk to clear the cobwebs and move the muscles. It's necessary every so often. Along the way, we spotted this mushroom. Is it a mushroom? I don't know. Crazy, right?

Montana to Help Mom - Days 1-6
While I was in Utah with Cassie, Mom had a health scare and I've been trying to get up there to help. She was released from the hospital today and we are flying to Montana for a bit - to help and to spend some time with her.
We are going through Seattle and flying Alaska Airlines for a change.

Winter 2025 Montana Trip - Week Two
Dang - February first is here and I have no idea where January went. I know, it was busy and that makes it go faster, but still . . .
We are on our second week up in Montana, visiting with Mom and many other family members. This week we get started with a dinner hosted by Jill. My sweet Mister is just not feeling well, so he stayed back to sleep.

Autumn Montana Trip - Days 1-3
It's time for the annual fall trek to Montana and this time we are starting out a bit different. In our area of Dallas, we were able to be picked up by DART right at our house and taken to the train station. From here, it's a leisurely ride to the airport with only one transfer downtown. Easy peasy. Price can't be beat and no car to pay parking charges on. Win win.

Road Trip - Days 9-15 - Bigfork
We are at Moms and blessed with a visit from our Niece/Nephew and grands. Yep, any form of grand works for us. We love time with them all. Here they come and I can't believe how much Avrielle has grown.

Brock and Jill and Greyson - Round Two - Day 4 - Dallas World Aquarium, Dallas Zoo
Up, up everyone. It's a full day and our wonderful visitors have to fly away this afternoon. We are going to do our best to send them off on a high. We had early entry to the zoo, but it's still pouring out. Supposedly that is supposed to end around 11 so we are punting once again. First stop is the coffee shop. I didn't have access to this information and made a whole pot of coffee first - but a cake will happen this week now. It's all good. With rain really not letting up, we decide to go to the Dallas World Aquarium first. Maybe we can get both in that way. Straight downtown and in - it's pretty busy with the rain and all, but we'll still have a good time. Enjoy the pics, comments only when necessary or helpful.

Brock and Jill and Greyson - Round Two - Day 3 - Grapevine, LEGO Land, Meow Wolf and Ephesians
Rain, rain, go away --- we want to play! I don't think it will happen at all today, so a punt is required. We rarely get rain that is socked in for a full day, but today just such a thing is happening and it will continue until tomorrow. Be that as it may, as I said - "Punt." Mister has to work in Irving again all day today, so everyone is up early to drop him off at 8. Grapevine is just down the road and we have planned our day for that area. First up --- Breakfast! We find a spot downtown that is open --- you would think from the picture that it is the bakery, but you would be wrong. it is Chez Fabien, the Bistro. Oh, and breakfast is divine. Truly. This Strawberry Romanoff Crepe is to die for. It was large enough that all had a share and even Greyson declared it "Yum."

Brock and Jill and Greyson - Round Two - Day 2 - Northpark Mall and Taste of Fort Worth
What to do - what to do? I have a driving schedule for today and am trying to figure out how to fit some fun in. Mister has to be in Irving for meetings from noon to eight. Brock is in conference until 4. Jill and Greyson are ready for anything. We let Brock and Jill sleep in a bit and get Greyson fed and ready for the day. He and I leave to pick her up and decide to go be mall walkers for a bit (I have to be back at the house by 11 to take Mister to Irving - this is one of those times when one car is a bit harried and Mister's meetings were TOTALLY unexpected when we planned this visit with Brock and Jill).

Brock and Jill and Greyson - Round Two - Day 1 - Arboretum and Klyde Warren
Spring has arrived in Dallas and so has my niece, Jill, and her family. I am off to pick her up this morning for a bit of a walkabout. Dallas Blooms is in its third week and I still haven't been. It's time. With quick hugs and looks to hurry from the hotel staff, we start making our way there. Oh goodness --- the parking lot is pretty full and we have a bit of a walk, but it will be worth it. I promise. First stop is the gift shop as Greyson needs a hat. Done and away we go.
Into the garden and AHHHHH -

One Week Into 2024 - Back in Montana - Week 2
Winter in Montana is always beautiful, but sometimes cold. VERY cold. This is my morning hello. Now, in all fairness, it is much better than it has been --- check out the previous post - Brrrrr.

One Week Into 2024 - Back in Montana - Week 1
January has arrived and, with that auspicious statement, we are off to Montana once again. Two weeks with family and enjoying winter. At least that is the plan. Once again, we have a flight in the wee hours, so Mister is sleeping on the plane. Seriously, we left the house at 3:15 this morning. We are NOT typically mask-wearers while traveling, but there are two people coughing right behind us and we are off to see Mom, so don't want to risk hauling something fun up there. Masks on --- let's do battle.

Annual Autumn (Perhaps Winter) Journey to Montana - Week 3 - 2nd half and home
All Saints Day - We are still in Montana and it's been a busy day. I made a trip into town to run errands and managed to get in 10 stops in an hour. Yep, woman on a mission. First, I went to the lake to take a selfie in a hoodie, then stopped to have the oil changed in Mom's car, downtown to take another selfie in same hoodie, gas in the car, stop at drug store for my sister, up to liquor store for friends (honest), bank to put money in Mom's account for cleaning lady, post office to mail previously said hoodie to Wyoming, get mom's mail on the way home and one last stop to drop off purchase from drug store with my sister. I did it!!

Annual Autumn (Perhaps Winter) Journey to Montana - Week 3 - 1st half
The beginning of our 3rd week has us going into Kalispell to run some errands. Home Depot and Costco fill the needs and apparently, my closet as well. I grabbed two more shirts and a pair of gloves - both to stay here. The two shirts I bought earlier were the exact same and I LOVE them so they will go home with me. We got back to the house and Mister wasn't quite done being out of the house for a bit. We went back into Bigfork and walked around to see the Scarecrow Contest. Each business that participated had one out front. Had we done this last week, they wouldn't be covered in snow, but it is what it is. Right? Walk along and enjoy the fun.

As the second week begins, we have the opportunity to spend some time with Jill and her littles. We are off to feed their cows.
